Clunking noise from back end

my bmw x3 07 , 100,000 miles has started to clunk quite badly when i just set off but when up to speed there's no problem , until i slow down to about 10 mph - 0 from what sounds like the rear axle , when going up through the gears its fine like i say its just when i set off & come to a stop , hope you guys can help

Heard that if you run these cars without non star rated tyres can cause the clunking .Worth checking ? BMW approved tyres have a star on the sidewall.

I've checked the tyres they are approved from BMW for this model , when I listen closely
It does feel like the drive shaft slightly slipping at low speed or the part that turns it Not sure & there's seems to be like what I can only explain is a sound that sounds like a police siren when excelerating somebody mentioned its a common problem with the x3 bug I don't know !

Could be driveshaft , coupling ,support bearing or a wheel bearing.Really need to get it checked out .
