2001 BMW 5 Series not starting after a period of time

Car: BMW 5 Series
Year: 2001
Variant: 530 diesel sport
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My 530d starts and runs no problem, but if I leave it for around 2-4 hours, when I try and start it, it's like the fuel has been cut off and it cranks over only. I have replaced the fuel pump relay as there was a problem with these but when the problem occurs, I can hear the pump running. When the fault occurs, the engine cranks over but does not start, almost like an immobiliser was cutting off fuel. If I leave the car for about 20 mins and try it, it fires up no problem. I have been told there may be a problem with injectors, supposidly leaking causing the problem. I did have an injector replaced about a year ago. ANY IDEAS PLEASE.

hi there, i would suspect injector(s) leaking back. or possible coolant temp sensor. would recomend a visit to a diesel specialist to investigate common rail system. it is possible that the fuel pump delivery pressure is too low. hope this helps!!
