2001 BMW 3 Series noisy exhaust

when i have stopped driving my exhaust sounds a kind of crackling sound and very tinny which is all i can describe it. someone has suggested that maybe my cat has been cut but this is not the case so has anyone else got any solutions. thanks

Its more than likely your exhaust just cooling down in that case. A simple case of heat hitting cold
