please help my bmw 316 is only getting 35 miles from quater of tank of petrol does anyony no why cos this this is costing loads with the price of fuel theres days

If it is as bad as that , should be easy to find fault .Has car been serviced , tuned or a diagnostic scan carried out ? If not , impossible to say what fault is as too many potential causes .
