1997 BMW 3 Series non starter

was driving home, car began to judder and lack power.eventually stopped and would not restart.i think it may be the fuel pump as it felt like the engine was being starved of fuel.

is the car petrol or diesel and also what size engine?any warning lights on when this happened?

car is a 1.6 and no warning lights what so ever came on

i take it the engine is cranking over?have you got plenty of petrol in the car?you need to start checking things like you have a good spark and fuel delivery system and filter for restrictions
