Fast flashing left indicators

Sometimes whern I indicator left the indicators flash fast as if a bulb has blown but no bulbs have blown. Sometimes it will flash fast and then flash normally and sometimes it will flash normally. Does this sound like a bad earth and if so how can it be cured thanks.....

If fitted on car ,is the repeater in the wing flashing o.k ? Also suggestions from BMW forum re same fault ,


Dodgy earth on N/S lamp cluster.


Burn't out connection in the block on the rear cluster.


I had the exact same issue and cleaned all the contact points in the rear cluster with contact cleaner. The double-ticking hasn't happened since so its worth a shot if, like me, your electrical skills arent all that great!


The important thing to remember is that the lights are managed by a control unit, the control unit will flash the indicators fast when it detects a fault. The fault could be a bulb or a dodgy connection.
