Rotational knocking noise

1992 BMW 3 Series 316i
Car: BMW 3 Series
Year: 1992
Variant: 316i
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I have a rotational knocking noise from n/s/r which increase with speed but disappears when the clutch is depressed.

At the last MOT/service a diagnosis could not be given. A friend thinks it might be the diff?

Any ideas>?????

Surprised they couldn't diagnose on service , could possibly be drive shaft and noise goes when clutch dipped and load taken off .Though normally would still be there .This shows you set up and gives walkthrough with pictures .
