I know you have had a new battery and alternator fitted , but I would get both tested again . I'ts not the first time a new part fitted has failed . Then if all o.k get car checked for drain on electrical system .

would have the ecu removed and checked out. have had one incident of the ecu turning itself on and running the ignition and fuel pump until battery dies intermittently... right bugger to find cause. been pulling my hair out for weeks!!!! car would be ok for days at a time then weeks... then it'll be flat when you running late for work!! ecu repaired
apparently corroded board causing intermittent short to ground... now all good in the hood so far.... its been 45 consecutive days without fault!!!!!

Eleanor/batteryman,

I think I've got the same problem :( The symptoms are exactly as you both describe. How much did it cost to resolve the issue? Also did you get it done at a BMW dealer or an independent specialist?
