I take it the AA guy checked all the usual, fuses etc, if so if you have no spark or fuel this symptomatic of a crank sensor but it needs checking on an oscilloscope to make sure it is a clean signal if there is any at all, if there is a signal then it needs to be checked back to the ecu

Common problem on the 4 cylinder models, gives the appearance of a misfireing crank sensor but is in fact the crank damper, have come across a few,you will find that the outer section with the timing sensor pickups on has come away from the rubber holding it to the center, try holding on to the outer ring and wiggling it you should find it moves on the rubber hence putting timing out giving the appearance of a faulty crank sensor
Hope this helps
