1998 BMW 3 Series staring

when starting the engine it only fires up on 3 cylinders,after a short while the 4th kicks in,being useless as a mechanic! any suggestions would be grateful thanks

Could be something simple like plugs / leads .This should help you understand what's involved in doing this work .
