started 2 weeks ago with a humming noise. it quickly progressed to a "clonking noise" mainly on nsr. cant see how it could happen to a car of this age

Is it definately the diff thats gone and not possibly a wheel bearing ?

i agree. wheel bearing favorite... has this car been drifted??
