2007 BMW 3 Series smoking

So my car is smoking immediately at startup and at the end of driving it . Possible during driving but I do not notice it . It has after turning off minutes later to refuse to restart . Battery will eventually die while trying to start and then an odor from the right side of engine will occur smells electrical after a serious jump it will start as if battery was dead but after this episodes no issues with battery not starting the two incidences happened like 2 months apart .also it yesterday turned off while driving and was iffy to restart but it did and on the way home less than 11 mile from home it was very hesitant to drive high arms low speed. Heavily shaking and feeling if was to stall , but upon getting home I turned it off and that’s where I’m at oh and wasn’t shifting gears until I put in Manuel drive and shifted
