2005 BMW 3 Series loss of power at high speed

It just happened today - driving on the motorway at about 75mph all of a sudden the DTC warning symbol wit triangle and arrow around it started flashing slowly and lost power and had to pull on hard shoulder.Restarted and carried on for a while and felt normal and the 35 miles later it happened again- felt quite dangerous- looked up the symbol in the handbook - doesn't seem to make sense with the problem- any ideas anyone what this could be

You will need to get a diagnostic scan carried out , otherwise only guessing .
