Hi just had a new gear drum put in about 2000mi ago but today I noticed that when in D and with the window open and stationary there was a rattling coming from the back the ratling stopped when put in to N. There has also been a intermitant loud whine from the back when above 60mph this stops when the throttle is pressed.Any adeas ?

Rattle from back could be exhaust , exhaust mounting, exhaust baffle plate inside box . Whine could be rear axle diff . Could check oil level .
