Occasional noisey tappet

ive got a noisey tappet on number 4 (i think).when cold its fine but once warm its noisey,but not all the time.you drive away and it goes.how could i solve this ?somebody said it may have low oil presure !! or it could be the chain at rear of engine,but if it was that surly it would be there continuosly ? HELP PLEASE...

Could change oil and filter if not been done for a while , using a good make of oil and see if that helps. If not fixed , Wynns do a hydraulic tappet cleaner additive .Some people swear by it , others dont like it .

the revs on tick over have also started to flutter up and down and has once totally cut out but started straight away again.
