the alarm keeps setting off at random times when car is stood and locked up it happens several times during day and night sometimes for 20 seconds or so then stops and then minutes later starts again then it can be standing an hour or two without it happening the car wouldn't actually unlock with the electronic kety this morning but opened later with the normal key don't know if relevant but drivers side electric window stopped working acouple of weeks ago and also have the air bag light on on the dash board car drives fine have no idea what causing it

You may need to get it checked with Vagcom but check if any motion sensor that can be switched off . Also seen low car battery playing fun and games with electrics , could explain opening manually with key .Most fast fit or accessory shops / Halfords will load test battery foc . Could also be battery in alarm sounder .This is the best I can find just now to explain better ,

I would start with a battery check. You could do this with a cheap multi meter. It gives good example on u tube.
