2009 Audi A4 battery warning message

When starting the car a warning message appears: "low battery charge - will charge whilst driving". A garage has checked both the battery and the alternator and both are fine. What could be causing the problem and how could it be fixed? The car starts ok every time. The car management system has shut down the automatic stop/start function due to the low battery.

Check the earth connections from the battery to body and also from the engine/gearbox to body...
