Audi A1 cd/eject button

I have recently bought an Audi a1 2011 plate.
It has a cd in the cd player (that was already there) but the eject button wont work (it does nothing when I press it at all). The CD works though. Its been like this since I bought it.
Do you have any ideas what could be up with it I have heard it could be locked?
