2000 Audi 80 loss of accelaration

Car: Audi 80
Year: 2000
Variant: Convertible 1.8i Limited Edition
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I accelerate there is an initial burst of power, but then this fades slightly. After a very short time however, the power then kicks back in again. This does repeat however as I move up the gears (1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th).

This does not seem to happen when the engine is cold, but only after it has warmed up a bit. Can be particularly problematic when pulling off at roundabouts!

Any ideas?

These cars suffer coolant temp sensor problems and some wiring difficulties to the ignition coils and also mass air flow sensor problems. If you are not to car savvy you need to have it looked at by a reckemended diagnostic garage or you may pay too much for un-required parts fitting until the problem is fixed.
