1994 Audi 80 engine hesitation from 2500 to 3000

When driving around, when accelerator is pressed it will pull until it reaches 2500, at this point it will slightly die until 3000rpm which at this point it will pull even stronger. Any ideas what could be causing this? I have changed the maf sensor, distributor cap and rotor arm. Thank you

check induction pipe from air filter to manifold for any splits check all breather hoses and vac pipes for leaks and condition also check for leaks at inlet manifold gasket could even be a slight blockage in exhaust or cat have you checked plugs and ht leads and connections to coil etc
