All cars have been dealt with professionaly and on time, and even using manufacturers original parts, the cost was reasonable, and there have been no issues at all with the work done.

I went to Sheppards racing as not many other people would touch my exhaust as it is modifed. The bracket supporting my exhaust snapped so I needed it fixed. They done the job which didn't cost too much but the bracket they put on was alot smaller than my previous one. three weeks later I know why. It had snapped again. I rang up and told them and they said it maybe a fault with the exhaust. Shouldn't this apparent "fault" been spotted the when it was fixed!? I booked my car in again after waiting for it to be seen and spoke to the mechanic. He said there was a car stuck on a ramp and it couldn't be done today even though I had it booked for a week with my exhaust hanging near the floor! If they really had a car stuck and couldn't see to a person's car who booked an appointment, shouldn't they of rang and re-arranged? To sum up I receieved bad customer service and bad work done to my car and will not be going back to them. Instead travelling 50 miles to go to someone else. I recommend avoiding If you want your car fixed properly.

It's not often you find an honest, trustworthy mechanic. You'll often get robbed with ridiculous per hour rates and a half-hearted serviced. Not with Sheppard Racing. I've been going to them for about 4 years now. With 3 different cars. They know how much I love my car and give it the very best treatment every time I go. They're knowledgeable and honest.

I took a car there that I was thinking of buying they told me it was a lemon and needed around £900 worth of work done to make it reasonable. Warned me not to touch it. Saving me around £5,000 essentially. They could have lied then done the work for me, but they'd rather know that I was happy and driving a safe vehicle - essentially, good customer service. Can't fault them.

If there ever are problems, they fix them without charge.

I would never take any car back to sheppard racing colchester. They fitted a cam belt and pulleys on a Alfa 156 V6. The original belt had done 78k. The one they fitted lasted 6 weeks.My next stupid mistake was taking it back after they said they would sort it out as it was covered under warranty.After they had stripped all evidence they called me in.they told me the parts were all ok with the kit they used (no warranty),but what was apparent was the belt had been rubbing on something.It was 2 millimeters thick before it broke. i asked them to explain how a new belt that they had fitted was rubbing and how they where going to replace my ruined V6 engine.THERE ANSWER... you did not have any water in the car, the car engine ran hot,it expanded causing it to rub.The same engine that had done 78k with same amount of water that was in the car at the time. Have you ever heard such rubbish.I said i was going to pay for an independent assessor they went into the office and came out with the local assessors phone number.I could not believe it ,i new i was in trouble.i tried to find another number but one person is responsible for east anglia.I phoned him any way to find out if he could prove anything on a stripped down fault.The assessor new the first names of the mechanics that worked there and said it would cost £170 and would not be able to guarantee anything. GUTTED.
