Smart Fit Autos

My car developed a power steering problem and I took it to Smart-Fit Auto centre. Their diagnostics were it needs a new power steering rack. The time was 12:10 pm on Sat. We drove to another garage for the fitting of the new rack and by 4:30 pm the rack was fitted but the problem was not resolved. Monday came and nothing was done in my car. I called the garage and they said they didn’t touch my car and they will get to it on Tuesday. My car has a new power steering pump fitted in May last year. The guys suggested we get a new pump??? I was baffled by that but after a lengthy debate I was made to believe it’s the only solution. Wednesday came, nothing happened to my car. Thursday came and they said they have ordered a new pump and it will arrive on Friday. Friday came and they got the pump but it was the wrong pump that was noisy, had to be sent back. Another was ordered for Sat. I called them Sat morning was told they got and old pump in a sealed box so it has to be sent back and we wait for Monday. I will never use these guys again. Very incompetent and poor communication. You have to constantly call them and they are rude on the phone as if the car owner is a burden. Very poor work ethic. I will update about Monday going forward .
