Disgusting behaviour on every step of the way.

Please please please be careful of using this company, I found my car through Auto trader, originally when speaking with Rob he was very informative and couldn’t do more to help but was a bit pushy with the holding fee didn’t think much of it, went to see the car loved it, brought my car with me, was evaluated on site and an agreement was made for a part ex.

On the day of coming to get my car, the manager Andy asked to look at my car again, he then called Rob outside leaving me sitting there pretty awkward and uncomfortable, he then took me to my car and said he wasn’t happy with it, now nothing had changed with my car from the point it was seen to start, there was a cigarette burnt on the chair I had inherited from the previous owner which I disclosed over the phone and was visible when Rob valued it, the alloys on 2 of the wheels scuffed, again all on there prior.

I then sat there whilst the manager said it was Robs fault and he was promised a lovely car and wasn’t getting one (at this point management belittling their staff I should of ran a mile, my car I was trading in was a great running low miles, yes it wasn’t perfect but I had taken car of it and the words he was using wasn’t very nice.) I only got a new car as we want to turn the new one into a camper so the car was not in bad nick, after going backwards and forwards on a new price for the part ex I agreed that instead of have the £500 returned to me a combo of my holding fee and the extra of my settlement figure to just call it £250 to stop the awkwardness.

I wish this is where it ended….. I bought the car in the 16th of July, the 6th of August my old finance comes out when I question with the garage the finance hadn’t been paid off and I was told it wouldn’t be paid off until the last day of the settlement quote…… and told on the phone that’s the way it always is, now this is my 5th financed car and everyone I’ve spoken to including both finance companies agree this is not correct, I was being papped off once again by Rob in a very passive tone.

I had to wait nearly a month for my holding fee to be refunded I kept calling and was told give it 2 more days, give it 1 more day, anything to shut me up basically. Until my husband had to call 4 times in a day and would you believe it I got the payment back the same day……


Now if this wasn’t all bad enough, I’ve now been charged late payment fees from my old finance company because they paid the settlement quote late…… I’ve emailed them with the emails from Alphera asking to be compensated and a reason why and shock horror im being ignored, followed up again and would you believe it…. Nothing from them, so I now have to pay fees that were not my fault to avoid it going on my credit file, thank everything the car itself hasn’t failed me but I urge people to run a mile I have honestly never been treated this way and I will ensure no one I know will go near them, not out of spite but just for the sheer stress and lack of customer service. Cowboys!

Newmarket Motor Company always go above and beyond my expectations. I have always purchased my cars from them and have recently purchased a 2011 Audi A3 and as usual, I absolutely love it. Brilliant deal and always so much more personal than going to main dealer.

Purchased Nissan QQ from them.
Good:
- Got a great deal.
- Car was nicely prepared.
- A new set of back tires was fitted too.
- Great part-ex price
- Fantastic friendly service

Bad:
- Body paint scratches re-appeared (Originally removed) this is a common fault when using scratch removal pens.
- Spare key promised but not delivered

Good selection of cars at reasonable prices.
The problem is after sales, countless promises of calls back to rectify a minor paintwork issue as promised during the sale.
I have lost patience and will get it sorted myself.
Won`t be going back.

I recently purchased a used BMW 325d. When I first looked at the car it had just arrived with them so it wasn't prepared, however it was in good condition. The sales man agreed to service and MOT it for me.

We arranged to collect it a week later and everything had been carried out as well as a new set of brake pads. Very happy will use again.

BUYERS BEWARE.
I have had nothing but hassle from the word go, incorrect paperwork, which I had to pay to be corrected.
No spare key, which I had been promised, again I had to sort and pay for a replacement after countless false promises.
Promised numerous return calls, which never happened. I will NEVER buy a from them again!

Bought a car a week ago, dealt with Lawrence. Told what would be fixed at MOT/service and asked for some other minor bits to be done. All done with no fuss. Two days after buying car I noticed a humming noise. Phoned and spoke to Jason. Car fixed under warranty, working perfectly a day later. Friendly and informative for a complete buyer novice!

Bought a car for cash 2 months ago. Can honestly say if you want any extras do not go to this company, After sale service none existent as well. They completely ignore any correspondence with them. Will not be one of the people returning to purchase another car with them.

Emailed them via auto trader, emailed them via their own website, totally no responce. I was a cash buyer. If they cant be bothered to respond BEFORE you purchase from them, what chance do you have AFTER you buy.

I bought a car off them around 12 months ago. I took the car back after a couple of months to have some minor bits done under warranty. Was informed by mechanic that one of the faults was a common problem and there was little he could do. Took it to an independent garage two months ago and told what the fault was and that it could be repaired.

I would like to take a minute to praise your sales lady vicky, who delt with us the other day.
She delt with my daughter, who is a very nervous driver brilliantly encouraging her to takr the car out on a test drive. While on the drive Vicky gave her good clear instructions without intimidating her and chose a good route for us to go on.
Because of this excelent service we had no hesitation about buying the KA from Newmarket Motor Company and would use you again and recommend you to others!

Hello I have just read some of the negative ratings of this company and I have to say I could not disagree more I bought a little Toyota Yaris from them about 4 months back and it is the best little car ever! There was a few little scatches here and there and the young girl I bought the car from promised me they would be gone and guess what they were!!! The car looked fantastic after being cleaned to a great standard and having a fresh MOT on it and a 3 month warranty that I extended up to a year for a mere £199. I do long trips in this car and also run about trips and I have never had a problem!! I have even recomended Newmarket Motor Company to friends and family, and would be more than happy to buy my next car from them when the time comes for an upgrade!! If your in the area or not go to Newmarket Motor Company!

I bought a Audi A4 Petrol from Newmarket motor Company and i must say what a absolute joy to deal with. The dealer was called Andrew and was pleasant,helpful,and above all he did what he said he would do. When i came to collect the car it was fully valeted, petrol placed in the tank ( half full ) and nothing was to much trouble, i Had the car for 2 years and was trouble free in all that time, the only time i had to ring them was when the glove box lid broke no long after i bought the car, i contacted Andrew and within days the problem was solved by them obtaining a new one from Audi and posting it to my home address with the instructions to get it fitted and whatever the bill was for this to send the bill to them for them to pay. In a nutshell a brilliant dealership so much so i have every intention of going back when i need another car. I cannot recommend them highly enough !!!!!

Well I thought I had a bargain, lovely motor had 2 new tyres asked to have tracking checked as under warranty out by miles and steering rod badly damaged. Gues what while the workshop manager replaced the steering rod he also helped himself to my manufacturers battery and cover and admitted to it. He had replaced it with a lower voltage. Then after taking it back twice in 24hrs because the maintenance light was on continually and he informed me it was when they serviced it. I was so fed up at the unreliability I took it to an independant garage and the vehicle hadnt been serviced for a long time and the reason the light was on was because 3 glow bulbs were duff and there was a cracked pipe adjoining the exhaust.
This has cost me also but I now feel safe and have confidence in my vehicle, using my own garage was reliability.

Attempted to purchase a vehicle. They promised the car would be ready three times, those days came and went.

No communication from them. In the end I had to contact the specialist garage they'd sent the car (as NMC didn't know what the problem was) as I was getting no info from NMC. Misinformed as to the problem by NMC and about the ready date.

Wasted lots of time with this company. Never returned phone calls, I had to chase them every time. Found out since that another friend had had a very similar experience, but over a much longer period.

Pleasant enough people but very very poor at communication. Should have been very simple. I don't mind if there's a problem, just be honest about it.

Bought a car from this company in 2008. Very disappointed. It turned out to have some fairly major damage that was caused by a previous service. This was not picked up by the company before they sold the car to us and was found later by another garage. Very expensive to fix. I would not use them again.
