They didn't tell me until after the job was started that they would need to keep the car overnight. As it was a small bodywork job they would surely have known this when they assessed the job and provided the quote. Had they informed me I would have booked my car in for another date when it was convenient for me to be without my car for two days. As it was, I needed my car to get to work on the second day, causing unnecessary stress.

They also are not always clear about their pricing. I had a service and MOT, the prices quoted included VAT, however, the quote for the bodywork didn't. I only found out when I went to collect my car. On top of also being told that my car still wasn't ready, I was not happy. They did deliver my car home to me afterwards (although I had to call for a third time), but having removed the aerial, they hadn't replaced that. I had to do that in the cold rain.

I have never experienced such poor communication from any garage I have dealt with in nearly 30 years of car ownership. The one time I previously had an issue requiring the garage to keep my car overnight, I was proactively contacted by that garage, and offered a courtesy car. Whilst I'm sure the workmanship is good, there are many other garages around that can do the work equally well, but also comminucate effectively.
