G D T Automobiles

I took my VW Golf to GDT on 14/11/10 due to a grinding noise from the rear. I was told all four brake pads and discs needed replacing at a cost of £450. I booked the car in for the work but took a second opinion from another garage who in fact stated that there was nothing wrong with the discs and that the front brake pads had another 2 years of motoring at the level of mileage I was doing. Only the rear pads needed replacement. I was shown the discs and pads by this other garage and this was the case. When I challenged GDT it was quite apparent this came as no great suprise to them. Very disappointing that a local garage is behaving like this.
