Peugeot 5008

Have had a 5008 Sport from new (October 2011). Lots of rattles not able to fix. Now have a problem with no heat going to the footwell of the car. Been back to Bristol Street Motors but they can't find anything wrong. One other thing Peugeot specify 53.3 mpg combined drive cycle, the best I've had is 44.7. Overall would say the build quality is poor for the price compared to others on the market.

I bought a Peugeot 5008 late 2010 and after about 12000 km of running it, I got an electronic problem which disabled the ABS, the ESP and the automatic handbrake. The electronic problem further influenced on the performance of the GPS and the Bluetooth. The car was in the workshop for 2 weeks and thereafter it worked OK for about a month. Now the same problem has come up again and the car is once more in the workshop. The problem is at present ramdom, it starts all of a sudden and disappears when the ignition is switched off. This makes it difficult to locate the origin of the problem.
The car is very practical and spacious and I love to drive it. But electronic problems as also experienced many times with Peugeot 307SW seem to be a challenge for Peugeot.

I test drove a 308EGC when I really wanted to drive a 5008 auto cant get hold of one of these at all. I dont think they have made any yet, or if so there is a problem with them.
The gearbox in the 308 which I was told is the same as the 5008 was very jerky in the first 3 gears just like the automatics were years ago. So very disappointed with this so called new technology.
