Automatic car. First thing sluggish then fine. Occasionally sluggish uphill. Put your foot down to drop gear but doesn't.

When I start my Zafira up, it starts however, it gives a couple or bouncey revs and then stops. Even while out driving, every time I have to slow down or stop the engine****s out. So I am constantly having to re-start the car.
