Nissan Micra Leaks & Noises Problems

The engine has a loud ticking noise that comes and goes when the car is travelling. It is very annoying. What is the cause of this and how can it be cured?

Boot mat damp Spare Wheel well full of clean/rain water. No signs of ingress. Could it be through rearlight?

The blue temperature light stays constantly on during normal running .Also the heater doesnt get much warmer than lukewarm .i also think that the car is not as economical as it should be.
