Land Rover Freelander Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss Problems

Some times when trying to start up the starter motor doesn't turn only a clicking sound then after a few clicks starter motor turns and away she goes. Is it a wiring fault or is the starter motor duff? Any advice please.
