HI the clutch pedal sticks no and again not always, im not good on car stuff so make it as simple as possible. cheers

Citroen Xsara 97-00 Clutch Cable
"Citroen Xsara 2.0i 1998-2000 (upto RP 07972 (BE3 gearbox)) Length: 1533mm "

your car might have a clutch cable which could be the problem .

if the clutch is cable operated then check the clutch release are is`nt sticking and give it a spray with wd40 and the cable as well.if it is hydraulic then you could have a faulty clutch master cylinder,check fluid level in reservoir

I have a feeling there is a spring and two plastic pivots on clutch pedal. Try removing this as these can be troublesome
