Suggested Solution
with the light not flashing anymore that would suggest a flat battery on the car replace and see how you go

The immobiliser should never cause the engine manegement light to flash, Unless you have the wrong key or the immobiliser unit itself is faulty, there is a chip inside the key that has to be recognised by the immobiliser before the engine will start. Have you recently purchased a new key that may not have been programmed or may be you have more than one key for the same vehicle on your key ring for a diferent lock on the car ie. fuel cap or boot lock that could have come from a second hand vehicle, in which case this could cause the immobiliser to become confused as to why there are two keys in the area of the imm unit and only one is recognisable.

hi
i have a similar prob in that my p reg corsa wont start ..when i turn the key the engine turns over but the engine management flashes continually ...i am told this is the imobaliser..if i spray starting fluid in the carb the engine runs for a few seconds. i only have 1 key and as far as i am aware it has not come apart. there was a transducer around the ignition switch but it is not connected and there is no wiring for it...i do no the locks were changed before i owned the car ..going round scrap yards some corsas have transducers and wiring some dont can anyone point me in the right direction ???
thanks alan
