The Problem
my escort estate needs new outer sills welding on do i have to weld continuously right round sills or can i spot weld them if so at what distance is the mot spec

Suggested Solution
seam weld all the way do allow the weld to cool other wise there will be a fire and you wouldnt want that but if you do spot weld then it needs to be 1" to every weld across the bottom where it meets the floor but would need a seam weld across the rest of the repaired area for structure as its where all the support is in the sills so dont cut corners take your time and have a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher handy
