Suggested Solution

how long ago did you have the head gasket changed?
can you smell any fuel through the expansion tank with cap off?any creamy sludge under oil cap?

Problem solved now

I took it to a garage and he suggested changing water pump and thermo and said it would cost a lot. So i decided, even though i have minimal car experience, to do it myself,,,so i downloaded all the workshop manuals and 16 hours later all done and dusted. ive got all the cuts to prove it..
total cost 25 quid
