i recently aquired my fiat doblo which has its problems. I cannot seem to get her to start. it all started with the cold weather we had over christmas . i put a jump pack on because the battery had died and she wouldnt start, this was unsuccessful. I waited till after christmas phoned a local dealer who told me that i had probably wiped the keycode through using the jump pack whith the key in the ignition first?? (not heard this before , and neither had mr green flag.) so took it to main dealer £40 lighter in the pocket and still no joy a local engineer checked cam belt and other obvious things and tested the injector rail.. he found no power to the injectors and left it there was a fault with the immobiliser on the car which kinda brings us back to the key code thing again. so im stuck... any thoughhts or ideas would be greatfully received right now as theres a little bald patch slowly increasing in size on my head where im pulling it all out right now
cheers adam

never heard of that one either,so everytime you get a flat battery or disconnect it then the immobiliser loses the plot, sounds like bull to me,would have thought immobiliser fault would bring a warning light on dash?have you checked for fault codes by any chance?have you tried renewing or recharging battery?check all the fuses,is engine cranking over?good compression etc, does the car start with easystart?

mr green flag tried easy start and he had his van hooked up with jump leads. which didnt help although to be honest i noticed the van didnt hold the charge as when the leads were removed it was still very flat... the engine seems to turn over as you would expect with the power leads attatched. i dont have anyway of testing compression i'd have to take it back to the local gaarage to get her checked. green flag man had these little lights he plugged in to the lead that plugs on the injector which didnt light up when i turned the engine over so he decided it was imobiliser fault. any ideas??

you need to get it to a garage that has good diagnostic reader for them to check fault codes and do a compression test, and you need to sort the flat battery as well then check charge rate etc,

i suspect the battery is the problem with the non start. the ECU likes to see a good voltage before injectors fired. May also have a starter that is playing up and drawing a large current.

van is still in the garage at the moment. The mechanic surgested a solution of charging the battery and then leaving side lights on for 20 mins apparently this resets the ecu on some renults he seems to think it may work on fiat. time will tell he has a diesel specialist coming over either later today or tomorrow so will will no more then. as soon as mine is running i will let you know what the solution was if it helps. if in the meantime you find a solution that works for you please post here thanks
