Suggested SolutionThe immobiliser should never cause the engine manegement light to flash, Unless you have the wrong key or the immobiliser unit itself is faulty, there is a chip inside the key that has to be recognised by the immobiliser before the engine will start. Have you recently purchased a new key that may not have been programmed or may be you have more than one key for the same vehicle on your key ring for a diferent lock on the car ie. fuel cap or boot lock that could have come from a second hand vehicle, in which case this could cause the immobiliser to become confused as to why there are two keys in the area of the imm unit and only one is recognisable.
