You can't fix modern cars without diagnostics,
All your doing is throwing cash away.
From your description it could be anything.
Assuming it has a spark and the tacho is registering something on crank,
Without diagnostics all I can suggest you try is disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor.
The ECU will register this and substitute a value for the lost signal.
Might start if the CTS "IS" where the fault lies.
But it needs scanned.
