I would start with checking the automatic transmission oil. And get it scanned.

What colour ATF , ? What mileage ? Has it ever been changed ? So many possible causes the only way to really find the cause is to get it scanned with appropriate scanner .

Usually gets discoloured and brownish .At that mileage would have thought it was well due changing and possibly filter inside box ( if fitted ) Two schools of thought , if ok a lot leave as is .Others , regular change of ATF . Then again could be wear and tear on inside of box with clutch packs , brake bands , sticking valves etc .Your choice whether to change first or get it scanned at a dealership or auto box specialist .
