Can someone help me this eternal problem!!!??? We have had the car for 4 months now. Done 72k when bought one previous owner. This is my wife’s car and she love it apart from this problem. If you drive the car for about 100/150 mile nonstop the car loses all power (like limp mode) the Diesel Particulate Filler light comes up.

1.Took it into our local garage (on independent dealers agreement as local to us) they cleared out the fault codes( don’t know what they where I think something about accelerator pedal )and replaced the Air Flow meter. Ran fine until we took it for another long run same problem again.

2.Took it back to the Independent dealers local garage they took out the DPF Diesel Particulate Filter said it was coked up cleaned and took out for test drive, still coking up so took DPF out again cleaned and replaced one pipe.

3.All Ok until took on another long run …when I say long 100/150 miles, went wrong again and this time dealer not interested. Took it to a independent Vauxhall garage, did all code checks said nothing coming up, had it remapped with latest software update and said if it goes wrong bring it straight down.

4.Another long journey 150 miles without a stop, car goes again, if we go up a inclined hill very slight gradient the lorries over take us we lose all power (45mph tops) Took it back to Vauxhall garage, engineer after checking everything thinks it maybe the fuel injectors at £700 each stripped out and sent away comes back saying nothing wrong with the injectors. They can’t help us further.

Everyone is baffled and we now don’t know what to do can some please HELP. Many thanks in advance.

If it's still triggering the engine management light there should be a fault code stored . What about the fuel filter , has that been changed ?

Many thanks for your reply, the codes have all been checked and discounted by the garages. The last time the hill decent and traction control lights came on as well. I will suggest the fuel filter to the garage. Thanks once again for your response.

If they cant find the cause , dont understand why they are ignoring fault codes . The hill descent and traction control could be a fault with ABS sensor .If they scanned it with Tech2 , should show fault .Hope this helps .

I bought an Antara back in 2008, from new. It was a November 2007 model and was dicounted. I was really pleased with it until February 2011 when suddenly it went into "Limp Mode". 14 months down the line, nearly two fatal crashes and numurous trips to Vauxhall dealer, which included two trips to the Luton Factory (13 weeks there), nobody had a clue. In the end Vauxhalls bought car back off me. This looks like a common fault which Vauxhalls don't know how to fix.

Got a new Antara now, heavily discounted, preying it doesn't happen again.
