Reverse a trailer

Surely this is one of the rights of passage of any serious driver.

"Opposite lock" is the phrase you hear banded about when it comes to reversing a trailer but it's not as simple as that. There's a bit off opposite lock, sure but then there's also some "steer back the other way", then a bit of "ooh, easy, she's about to jack-knife" and finally some "ahh b*ll**ks!"

It's not too bad, once you get the hang of it, but there's a really steep learning curve for the uninitiated. If you ever get the chance to reverse a trailer, give it a go. Just make sure there's nothing valuable onboard and no audience things could get embarrassing!

If you want to learn more and even see a demo, take a look at this resource on reversing from the National Trailer and Towing Association: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/driving/reversing.aspx
