The Road

Leaving Selkirk pick up the A708 signed for Moffatt

starts of a little narrow and twisty for the first couple of miles, a little tough in the car with few passing opportunities - no problem on the bikes but watch out for gravel washed out of the hillsides after rain. The road runs across and then drops down to the side of the loch where the views and the road open up onto new shellgrip. There are two small cafes on the lake side where you could stop on the way back! there is no way you will only do one pass when you are there.

A708 starts a tight country road opening up to superb sweepers hugging the side of St Marys Loch - 30 miles of the best quiet roads you will come across

Enjoy but stay safe - 916 Senna
